Chihuahua Facts
- I love
to watch the Cesar Millan dog show on cable and feel that he's the best
thing that has happened to television.
-
As I love water, I enjoy taking a
bath. One of my happiest times is when it's raining.
Mommy takes me in the backyard and let's me do the "Chihuahua
running around circle" -- she says it's hilarious.
-
Chihuahuas wheeze and grunt
at times, especially after or during a bath. Mom thought I had
asthma, but the veterinarian stated it was just normal "Chihuahua
wheezing and grunting." Just be careful not get too much water
in my ear canal.
-
I love
spaghetti, especially with tiny bits of ham added to the sauce.
I have a terrific appetite for human food, but mostly I eat
commercially prepared dog food.
-
If you rub my belly,
oftentimes it puts me sleep. Somehow it transports me into
another world of wonderful sensations and knocks me out.
Sometimes when I'm too hyper and just want to play, Dad starts
rubbing my belling and pretty soon I'm taking a nap!
-
I cannot stand cold
weather. I shake and shiver if it's below 50 degrees, so Mommy
always bundles me up with my favorite sweaters. I also have my
warm Martha Stewart blankie to keep me in comfort while I sleep.
-
I have a sociable temperament. Persons that say Chihuahuas are
problematic and snappy have not met Tobi and I. We get
along with everyone, even babies and children. Then again,
children in our family have been taught that they must not pull our
ears or pull our tails, so we get along just fine. They have
also been taught to leave us alone when we're eating our food.
This helps.
-
When Grandpa plays
the piano, I howl like a wolf as he plays. Don't ask me why,
but it brings out the "wild" side of me.
-
Of all my favorite
people food, I would have to say that pure white chicken breast is
my favorite. Mommy boils a few pieces and hand-feeds them to
me. Hmmmmm......yummy!
-
My next door neighbor
has 6 Chihuahuas that are truly happy and playful. I watch
them from the sliding glass door or the kitchen window and we have
real bark-to-bark conversations. A few of her Chihuahua dogs
are Long Coated Chihuahuas (like me), but the others are Short
Coated Chihuahuas (like the Taco Bell dog).
-
There is a Great Dane
Harlequin dog named "Jet" in my neighborhood that is as large as a
horse. I feel invisible when I'm next to him. Jet thinks
I'm cute. He's not so bad himself, but he's too tall for us to
date (I'm the size of his ear!).
-
I'm going to the
beach in a few weeks and Mom will take new photos. I like
running around on the sand, but I dislike the waves (they scare
me!).
-
I once got stung by a
red ant and had to be rushed to the vet. I swelled like a
balloon and couldn't breathe. The vet stated the red ant's
poison was very toxic on my tiny body.
- Two weeks ago I was taken to
the Vet. You see, I kept thinking I was pregnant (which is
impossible because my owners are not dog breeders). The vet
said I was going through "false labor" and the symptoms would last
2-3 weeks. Mom & Dad first freaked out but then took it in
stride. They pampered me a little more than usual (which is a
lot), fed me a little extra (yummy!) and bought me more squeaky toys
that I could hide under my bed (I kept thinking they were my
babies).
- Today I almost got bitten by a
large, unruly Rottweiler dog. Mom almost got bitten as well,
but the Rottie's owner had a quick pull on the neck collar. I
wish owners would keep their bully-dogs on a tight leash. It's
annoying that Mom always has to be on the lookout for those types of
dog personalities as they love to attack little dogs like me.
- The Internet is a wonderful
place. I have doggie pen-pals from as far away as Greece.
It's a good thing they speak English so we can communicate.
Where are you from? I love having pen pals. Write to me,
okay?
-
In case I forgot to
mention it again... I'm glad you're visiting my website. How
did you find us? Was it through Google? Woof!
